Balcony Ghosts And Shaking Chandeliers | The Malaga Inn | Mobile Alabama | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | America | BoiCGH

The Malaga Inn, at downtown Mobile Alabama, knows a thing or two about Mardi Gras celebrations, festivals and community spirit.

But did you know this inn is home to another host of spirits?

Welcome to Alabamas most haunted Inn, The Malaga was built in 1862 as townhouses during the Civil War. The building was actually donated as a wedding gift to a pair of very wealthy sisters who went on to live here many years as well as the notable Goldsmith and Frohlichstein families.

The property consists of thirty nine charming rooms and stunning courtyards which would not look out of place in a fairytale novel.

But most fascinating are the historic underground tunnel networks which connect the buildings of Mobile Alabama on much lower levels.

There is much phenomena encountered at this location with the most prolific haunting being in Room 7 up on the second floor.

It is here visitors have described sighting a ghostly woman dressed in white peering, curiously, over the adjoining balcony.

Could this female spectre be one of the wealthy sisters simply keeping watch over the home she so loved in life?

I suppose there is only one real chance of finding out, why not simply ask her next time you check in at The Malaga.

Many guests report chandeliers swinging unexplainably from side to side with no apparent natural influence and lights flickering on and off.

Mardi Gras anyone?
