Quote from Angela on June 6, 2021, 12:29 pmWho wants to come on an adventure with me?!
A spooky nature trail, whispering woods.
What really defines a location as 'being haunted? Is it the unexplainable voices, the dark fleeting shadows, or that alarming awareness that you are somehow being 'watched'?
Welcome to Hells Hollow Wildlife Nature Trail where you may experience all of the above.
This four mile nature trail covers 100 acres and offers tranquil forestry, amazing wildlife such as deer and eagles, a breathtaking waterfall known as Spirit Falls, and points of historical significance marked along the way. A brilliant opportunity for one to pick up some local heritage.
This area was once Indian hunting grounds and also the site of iron ore furnace house established in 1824. Another great sight is the Lackawonnock Lake which was originally formed from naturally occurring glaciers.
However, you may experience more than just 'history' along this this trail which is also rumoured to be haunted. Spirit Falls waterfall is reportedly haunted by the Indian man 'Harthegig'.
Many hikers have reported hearing unsettling moaning and disturbing laughter sounds eerily emanating from this waterfall, resulting in many individuals feeling too fearful to even approach the viewing area.
Others have described feeling as though they are being followed or watched with some experiencing unexpected episodes nausea and confusion.
Maybe these forests act as some sort of supernatural veil between the realms. Could this actually be the ghost of Harthegig still lingering here today?
Why not come and see for yourself. Walk, hike, rent a trail buggy, the choice is yours.
Just remember to listen out for the echoes of Harthegig.
