The Real Haunting on Hill House | Ettingdon Park Hotel | Warwickshire | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | United Kingdom | BoiCGH

Have you watched the movie The Haunting (1963) or the popular current tv series The Haunting of Hill House? The Ettingdon Park Hotel, a breathtakingly beautiful neo-gothic hotel situated in the town of Warwickshire, was the actual filming location for both of these productions.

The Haunting has been documented as one of the scariest films ever made. Its modernised follow up, 'The Haunting of Hill House', is now streaming and guess what - audiences are still terrified.

Local historian John Hodges says people flock from all over the globe just to get a glimpse of this amazing mysterious hotel and it is believed there are exactly 21 ghosts residing here who were previous owners, tenants and possible children who were believed to have been murdered here. These individuals were buried just outside the property in an adjoining cemetery, each with their own headstone.

The Ettingdon Park is one of Englands most haunted hotels and described by paranormal teams as 'terrifying'. Britains ghost hunter team who created the series 'Most Haunted' including Yvette Fielding and the late Derek Acorah conducted a live televised investigation at the hotel which can be viewed online.

Numerous guests have claimed they have witnessed actual ghosts walking the corridors, footsteps following them during the night and have witnessed objects fully levitate from the ground.

One female reporter spent a whole night alone in a room at the hotel and says she woke to a mans audible voice whispering in her ear.

The chapel area of the hotel is said to be the most paranormally active as there are allegations of children being murdered here. The staff often witness the chapel lights flickering on and off and have heard the disturbing cries of children as if coming from the walls.

Notable fluctuations in room temperature and full body apparitions including the ghost of an old Army officer who is often seen in the art gallery casually walking across the timbers, are phenomena frequently experienced here. This place is not for the faint of heart.

Mitchell Keyes, a barman at the hotel, states many guests tell him they hear sounds of childrens tiny feet running about followed by their piercing screams, as if in terror, and he himself has heard it.

Could this be the chapel children reliving their devastating end?

Perhaps the most bizarre yet fascinating fact is that in the library Sir Walter Scott's book 'St Ronans Wells' has flown from the shelf, literally on numerous occasions and always opens on exactly the same page! It reads

"A MERRY PLACE, 'TIS SAID IN YORE; BUT SOMETHING AILS IT NOW THE PLACE IS CURSED!"

If you love fascinating and frightening locations, be sure to visit the Ettingdon Park Hotel.
