Built in 1880 in Maryland Baltimore, the Gundry Sanitorium now stands eerily abandoned. Originally known as Athol Manor which was a historic slave rectory.

In the early 1800s a local church overtook ownership and used the building as a psychiatric facility for unwell children.

There were hundreds of reports of horrific mistreatment and abuse resulting its eventual closure.

The site is a hot spot today for paranormal investigators as the premises are extremely spiritually active with doors violently opening and slamming shut, items being thrown and feeling of severe oppression being experienced.

An old generator, some large chicken wire cupboards, infants blankets and old church service books and song sheets are still visible today in the basement area. We cant help but wonder what horrors took place down there.

Also discovered was a built in wall woodburner which we sincerely hope was used solely for its intended purpose.

It is on record that torture took place here and a young girl was pushed from the roof.

There is even an old games room with its original fuseball and dartboard. Walls now crumbling yet still the grand marble fireplaces offer some welcome grandiose amidst the oppressiveness.

This three storey building was built to house 45 inpatients, the building is set on a 72 acre plot.

With unexplained EVP voices and flitting dark shadows, is this a place you would be willing to explore after dark?
