The Ten Bells Pub also known as Jack the Rippers pub is located in Spittlefields, London is a wonderfully historical pub with a dark ominous past. This pub is rumoured to be haunted by the ghost of Annie Chapman, who was murdered by Jack the Ripper in 1888.

A bustling traditional pub, beautifully preserved wooden beams and porcelain renaissance tiling, the pub remains an extremely popular attraction with paranormal enthusiasts. 

Hundreds of customers have been known to panicking when they claim to witnessing walking apparitions. Some say former landlord George Roberts haunts the pub today. George was murdered here with an axe.

Others firmly believe Jack the Ripper himself haunts the premises as this was the area he frequented whilst searching for his next victim.

Paranormal teams have witnessed violent poltergeist activity here including a clear audible voice believed to be George. Georges voice is known to entice guests towards the cellar so he can push them down the stairs.

The current landlady claims that every morning upon entering the bar area the overhead chandelier is gently swaying, George's old room is directly above the bar. 

In 2002, renowned 'Ripperologist' Lynsey Silverton discovered a small sack containing mouldy Victorian baby clothes appearing to have been slashed by a knife and hidden in the attic, the very same exact attic where many guests have experienced sudden nausea and anxiety.

There were official reports of a murdered baby in the area in the nineteenth century so this would correlate with the above phenomena. 

So if you're ever in London, pay the Ten Bells a visit, if you dare.

Just be careful near the stairs.
