Spooky Dining at Muriels Restaurant | French Quarter | New Orleans | Paranormal | Historical | Haunted | America | BoiCGH

New Orleans is known as an epicentre for spiritual activity and we just keep discovering more. Many cases are debunked yet many more are not.

Muriels Restaurant on Chatres Street in New Orleans is said to be frequented by more than the average diners. This eatery is known to be actively haunted.

Situated in the atmospheric French Quarter and oozing charisma and mystery this restaurant reopened in 2001 after being wonderfully restored to its 1800 era glory.

The building was used primarily as a slaves holding quarter in the 1700s. During 1778 the New Orleans Great Fire saw many downtown buildings completely destroyed and sadly this was one of those buildings.

Sir Pierre Antoine Lepardi Jourdan purchased the property and set about its restoration. He spent many years devoted to rebuilding the place attempting to breathe nostalgia back into its walls. Pierre however was prone to a spot of gambling and one fateful evening he lost everything in a game of poker, including his beloved home.

The shock of his actions sadly would precede his suicide. Pierre hung himself in the home. Staff and customers alike report seeing Pierres full body apparition and others have witnessed unexplained sparkling light anomalies and hear whispering voices.

Staff respectfully keep one corner table set in Pierres honour and remembrance. After all he died due to his passion and vision for the place.

It is believed another spirit also resides here, an angry entity who throws things but the proprietor is open to the suggestion that this may be the one and same spirit of Pierre and that he is venting frustration at his tragic demise.

Could Pierre be residually haunting the home he lived and died for? If so we can only hope that he finds solace in its success today.

Why not book a table and see if you sense anything paranormal.

Who knows, you may just catch a glimpse of Pierre at his reserved table.
