The 14th century medieval church of St George's, stands abandoned atop a hill in the village of Lukova near Prague, yet it wasn't always this way. 

This fascinating building has an interesting backstory story and is believed to be haunted to this day by ghosts of its past! Read on to find out.

Plagued by multiple fires, the building saw renovation work. Sadly, during a funeral service in 1968, the roof gave way and collapsed.

After this event the congregation refused to enter and held their worship services in the surrounding fields but unfortunately the church deteriorated and was left to the hands of time.

However one art student, perplexed to see its sad demise, stepped in to undertake an exciting creative venture! He commissioned his very own student friends as living models and created 13 magnificent yet very sinister sculptures of cloaked figures worshipping, in memory of the churches past.

People still flock from the globe over just to glimpse these solitude mysterious figures.

Many believe they have seen the figures moving! And that the very pews they sit on are haunted. 

I know one thing, I might not sleep so easy tonight.
