The Enslaved Spirits | The Myrtle Plantation | Louisiana | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | America | BoiCGH

This historic 22 room Creole styled plantation mansion, built in 1796, has everything a grand home should have, even its own ghosts! Yet with a history as rich as this it comes as no surprise.

Back in 1831, the house and plantation were left to its caretaker who in 1834 sold to the the land, and its slaves. Over the years ownership changed hands multiple times.

The home has had at least ten murders committed under its roof including that of William Winter, an attorney who was shot in cold blood on the staircase, some say his disembodied footsteps can still be heard today. Spirits have frequently shown themselves in and around the property.

Now an extremely popular 'haunted' Bed & Breakfast' with guests flocking back in the hopes of witnessing something paranormal. And they do. The mansion has been featured in several documentaries, including Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures.

Might we note that many technical difficulties were experienced by tv crew, which can be a sign of paranormal activity as spirits are known to drain electronic equipment to use as communicational energy.

Owners claim they believe the property to be actively haunted by no less than twelve 12 spirits.

Why so many?

Because the plantation was actually built on an old Indian burial ground. Kind of like in the movie Poltergeist and we all know how that went! It is believed these fertile grounds are what attract spirits, rich in energy.

The plantation field are believed to be haunted by the slaves who toiled tirelessly there, many perishing on the very ground itself.

Many visitors have confirmed  they have witnessed full body apparition sightings and some have even captured these on camera.

Others report hearing terrifying demonic laughter in empty rooms and unexplained ghost faces peering from windows. Items such as candleholders have been seen levitating and some poltergeist activity has been reported within the kitchen area.

There are three paranormal incidents which regularly take place here which attract many overseas visitors, historians and paranormal enthusiasts.

The first is the apparition sighting of a slave believed to be seeking revenge, standing in the plantation fields at night. The second is mother with two small daughters, the third is a civil war soldier. There is also one more ghost frequently seen which is that of a young native American lady.

Exceedingly high EMF readings have been recorded here and isolated cold spots.

*** BE WARNED ***

There have been multiple incidents of actual bodily harm as a result of the spirits within this property ! So if you are brave enough why not take a visit out there and book one of the organised historical or haunted guided tours.
