The Ghost Of Roosevelt At The Buckhorn Exchange | Lincoln Park Denver | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | America | BoiCGH

The Buckhorn Exchange is a historic restaurant, bar and frontier museum, in the Lincoln Park area of Denver.

Originally constructed in 1866 today, this is the oldest, continuously operating, restaurant in Denver.

The building was run by Henry Zietz, a German business owner who first ran the building as a bustling saloon called The Rio Grande Exchange.

The bar worktops installed here were shipped from the Zietz family hometown to add a touch of German authenticity.

This saloon served many clientele from local gamblers, railworkers, businessmen, cattledrivers, miners and even government and Presidents.

Henry was much loved and extremely popular and would often become close friends with many of his loyal customers.

In 1905 President Theodore Roosevelt visited the restaurant and became good friends with Henry, so much so that he recruited him as his hunting guide and partner.

This hunt was said to be the stuff of legends and the African buffalo, shot by Roosevelt himself, is mounted on display at the bar today.

In 1916 the venue was established as a grocery store due to Prohibition law.

Some years later Buckhorn Associates took ownership of the building. It was later renamed The Buckhorn Exchange and incorporated a museum, restaurant and bar.

It is speculated that this location is home to a multitude of past patrons still clad in dusty clothes from the West.

Many staff and guests have reports an array of unexplained phenomena at the building today.

Apparitions in old fashioned uniforms, disembodied voices holding full blown conversations and on many occasions male guests report interacting with a lady who asks for a drink from the bar.

However, when the men have returned with the drink, the lady has disappeared from sight. This mysterious female spectre is fondly nicknamed Elizabeth and she seems to like being here.

Have you visited this location? Who knows, maybe you have interacted with Elizabeth unaware that she was of spirit.

Others believe they have encountered the ghost of President Roosevelt himself, his ghostly frame has been sighted in the lobby holding a clear drink which would make sense as in life he was teetotal and often enjoyed a glass of lemonade.

Could it be that President Roosevelt residually resides here today?
