This stunning 23-room French/Italian renaissance mansion, in Portland Oregon, was built by Henry and Giorgiana Pittock in 1914, is rumoured to be actively haunted by the couple themselves.

Henry Pittock was a highly respected London born publisher who later relocated to the United States. 

The couple lived in this beautifully decadent home until their deaths in 1918. However, it is believed they never truly departed and both spirits have been seen here on multiple occasions.

Visitors report the potent fragrance of English roses, which were Mrs Pittocks favourite bloom, whilst others say a particular art piece disappears/reappears in different rooms around the home.

Some have witnessed objects moving, light anomalies and shadowy apparitions walking the surrounding lawn areas, one of which is said to be the ghost of the former gardener.

The spirit of Giorgiana is usually spotted in the basement quarters and is said to appear to anyone who needs comforting or going through trauma.

Henrys spirit is often seen sat in lounge chair, feet up, casually reading his newspaper!

The house is open to the public as a historical museum and is supported by general admissions. Walking and/or self guided/guided tours are also available.
