The Haunted Bates Motel | Couer d'Alene Idaho | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | IdaHaunts | BoiCGH

Whilst researching The Bates Motel, Coeur d'Alene, its almost as if i'd stumbled back in time to the famous Hitchcock 'Psycho' production. But alas, we are in Couer d'Alene, Idaho, and this isn't fiction.

Originally a World War II barracks, the building was sold to Mr Randy Bates a local Idaho businessman. It is fascinating to discover that this motel existed before the making of the movie, and fascinating to note that Robert Bloch who wrote the script for Psycho actually stayed at this very motel before any production was made.

Could this unassuming little place actually have been the inspiration for the smash hit movie that still unsettles us today?

Numerous sightings of ghosts have been told over the years, from staff and guests alike.

There are specific areas known to be substantially more paranormally active, for example room 3 and room 1 where intense 'cold spots' and feelings of extreme nausea have been experienced.

Some have even witnessed poltergeist activity, seeing items fly off tables and many report hearing screams and cries in the night.

If you are feeling brave, why not check in some time and see for yourself.

A quick tip : you might want to shower before you visit.
