The Haunted Road You Shouldn't Take | Boy Scout Lane | Stevens Point, Wisconsin | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | America | BoiCGH

This isolated, timeless, lane has gained much infamy for its associated tales of local legend and a whole range of alleged hauntings.

The property is now privately owned and off limits to the general public.

Historically, this land was originally part of the Menominee tribal home settlements. Grounds along the Wisconsin River were officially seated to the United States in 1836.

Shortly after, George Stevens set up a small shop and trading post along the river bend.

The location grew in popularity and, in 1845, a post office was established and official plots drawn up. During 1854 a treaty was made with the United States and tribes were relocated off the Wolf River.

In 1910 the Boy Scouts of America was founded and many of the logging plots were utilized as camping sites, hence the name Boy Scout Lane.

Many who have explored this location have described a sense that something is always watching from the trees, sounds of branches violently snapping, mysterious disembodied voices and dancing light orbs seen floating amidst the surrounding foliage.

One account tells of shadowy figures seen darting about and small child size handprints found on vehicle windows parked here when no one else is around.

The perfect of example of history, and mystery, colliding.
