The Ghost of Fanny Price at The Skirrid Mountain Inn and Pub | Llanfihangel Wales | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | Wales | BoiCGH

The Skirrid Inn located in Wales is rumoured to be the most haunted pub in Wales and is believed to be actively haunted by multiple spirits. This place is not for the faint of heart.

Notorious for its paranormal activity, there have been that many tv crews and paranormal teams here that owners have lost count! The Inn lies eerily at the misty Skirrid foot mountains. The town of Skirrid dates back over 900 years to the Norman era and this is one of the oldest pubs in Wales.

Originally home to a courtroom resided over by an 'evil' judge who relished in handing out capital punishment, back in the day 'sheep theft' was a common crime. Over 180 convicted felons were hanged here from the old oak wood beams. The rope markings and scratch marks of the dying are still hauntingly evident today.

Some visitors report difficulty breathing and struggling for air once they walk approach the stairwells towards the beams, could they be picking up on the fear experienced by the prisoners as they were led to execution here?.

Legend has it that Owain Glyndwr used it as a base for the Welsh Revolt against Henry IV of England where he would rally the troops. The injured soldiers came here to rest after battle.

Many Paranormal investigators have recorded poltergeist activity here, including glasses and barstools being thrown, apparitions and loud audible voices.

If you stay the night in Room 2 you may encounter the spirit of Fanny Price, the 35 year lady who died in the eighteenth century and evidently still refuses to leave. If her spirit becomes perplexed she may turn your bath taps on, or play with the light switches or even creep up behind you and lay her hands upon you, you have been warned!

Room 1 was originally a prisoner holding cell where much negative energy is experienced. Maybe it's true that the very walls of a place can soak up and retain the energy of a place. If so, it comes as no surprise as to why visitors feel so overcome with sadness upon entering this room as this is where many spent their final moments of life.

If ever you are in Wales be sure to stop at the Skirrid Inn and be sure to share your experiences with us in the comment section below.
