Legacy Park, in Northville Township Michigan, is the sight of a former abandoned psych facility which bounds contain a handful of vacant structures most of which are currently facing demolition.

Historically, during the mid 1940s, construction began and the hospital opened its doors in 1952, featuring twenty buildings over 400 acres of campus.

It did not take long for this facility to earn positive renown as a one of the best psych facilities in the United States.

Sadly financial decline, and overcrowding accompanied with understaffing, took its toll on the hospital and horrifically, in 1983, investigations revealed racism, severe neglect and sexual abuse.

Shockingly, the hospital continued to operate for many more years.

It does not do well to even think about the horrors experienced here.

In 2002 its closure was announced and remaining patients were transferred to community settings or alternative facilities.

In 2009 residents of Northville purchased 400 acres of the property, transforming much of it into retail space. In 2020 the expanse welcomed the addition of hiking trails and was renamed Legacy Park. Plans to demolish any remaining structures are set to go ahead this very year.

This location may not be the classic supernatural hotspot, yet locals are adamant that this area is haunted by the souls of those whose lives were so cruelly stolen so long ago.

Those frequenting the now almost invisible facility have reported voices emanating from empty rooms, disembodied screams and encounters with a whole array of abhorent, distorted and half formed manifestations some of which have violently lashed out at the living.

Visitors have described an eerie feeling of being watched and even captured spectral silhouettes and mysterious mists on video footage and digital camera.

History never dies.

Every location has a tale to tell, and sometimes spirits will do just that.
