This is such an exciting and unique thing to see, and again such a fun experience for the children.
The Potato Museum in Blackfoot, Idaho, was originally constructed in 1912 as the Oregon Shortline Rail Depot and now operates as a museum. Today it is home to the worlds largest potato chip!
Do enough people even know about this because it really needs to be shouted from the rooftops. This is such an original experience waiting to be enjoyed as a fun quirky daytrip for the whole family.
Blackfoot is known as 'the Potato Capital of the World'. The humble potato plays a prominent role in Idahoan history and you can learn all about it at The Potato Museum right here in Idaho. Guaranteed to be educational as well as fun, which is always great, whilst one discovers the origins of potatoes, and learns such things as suitable growing conditions are etc.
This unique giant potato chip measures a whopping 25 x 14 inches, said to be equal to 80 regular chips, and was created by Pringle Company.
We were about to provide directions but honestly this location is pretty hard to miss, its the building with the giant potato structure at its entrance. There is an on site cafeteria and gift shop and some truly nostalgic exhibits to enjoy.
Perhaps the best exhibit is that of Marylin Monroe wearing nothing but an Idaho Potato sack!
Surely everyones got to see that once in their lifetime!
