Spanish dons and Old Town foothills. San Diego has some truly amazing history. Today there are still many outstanding sites of heritage including villages of Victorian styled homes and historical parks.

In 1857 Thomas Whaley built his family estate on some very unique land, the site of the cities very first public hanging gallows.

Jim Robinson, aka Yankee, was hanged here for robbery, just four years before the estate was built.

It is said that 'Yankee' Jim Robinson actively haunts this land and has done since his passing.

There were also multiple family member suicides within the home. 

Owners frequently encounter mysterious phenomena about the property including unexplained loud audible footsteps, fleeting shadows and the aroma of sweet nostalgic perfume.

Could these spirits still reside at the estate today? 

A residual haunting is when energy is left behind after someone dies traumatically. It can manifest as sound, footsteps or an actual and apparition. This residual 'imprint' is often repetitive in nature known to occur at the same times of a specific day or year. For example, on fields where battles were fought, the anniversary of that battle will present phenomena.
