Desolate country roads rumored to act as magnets to the supernatural and classic hotels whose halls are roamed by things from darkest nightmares, Texas has them all.

The Rice Complex in Houston, Texas, is a series of apartments housed within a historic hotel. The building boasts a reputation as one of the most iconic architectural structures in the city and was first constructed in 1836 and, in 1841, the building opened as The Capital Hotel.

In 1886 the property was purchased by William Marsh Rice who tragically was murdered in 1900. 

A new wing was added in 1925 changing the buildings appearance from a C to an E shape. 

In 2014 Crow Holdings Partners of Dallas took ownership and renamed the hotel as The Rice Apartments which are known for their many ghost tales and haunted reportings.

Phenomena includes floating lights visible to the naked eye, phones ringing with nobody answering at the other end and strange sounds emanating from inside the walls.

In the old ballroom, tales of old couples wearing nostalgic clothing are seen dancing to old fashioned band music are nothing new. 

This location is also known for accommodating a truly notable guest, former United States President John F. Kennedy. The President stayed here on November 21st in 1963.

Horrifically, he was assassinated the very next day.

This location holds a very special place in the hearts of many.

There are many locations which are just brilliant, from a paranormal perspective.

And then there are times during research when none of it matters, we are stopped still in our tracks, completely humbled and inspired remembering Americas greatest leaders.
