The anemometer is an often overlooked tool for ghost hunting.  Anemometers are used to measure air movement.  There are times when a client will describe certain breezes or air motion.  Or they will witness things like curtains, suncatchers, tissues moving on their own.  We can use the anemometer to track those areas.  They help us figure out if in fact it is airflow from something going on in the home.  Or random bursts of air forcing those items to move.
