The Betsy Ross House in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was first erected in 1740 and served as an working station for tradesmen and later operated as a shoe maker and pharmacy.

Betsy Ross holds an honourable place in the heart of American history as she was famous for crafting the very first American flag,

Betsy Ross and her husband lived, and died, at this property which became known as is 'The Birthplace of the American Flag'. The home is allegedly haunted by their spirits, amongst others, today.

After their passing, in 1976 the Ross’ remains were relocated across the premises to the Betsy Ross House courtyard gardens where you can view their final resting places today.

Reports of creepy and unexplained phenomena encountered here include mumbled conversations of disembodied voices, icy hands which grasp desperately at visitors ankles and hands and the full spectrum apparition of a lady ascending the stairwell, believed to be Betsy herself.

Also the sighing of a male apparition speculated as being the spirit of a previous security guard who was horrifically gunned down whilst on duty here during the early 80s. Visitors have described how this apparition seems to be circulating the perimeters of the property, just like a security guard would have done in life.

Could this supernatural security guard be protecting the Betsy Ross House today?

Local police have been alerted to the sounds of phantom gunshots only to find no circumstantial evidence occurring.

Could this be a residual haunting of events which have taken place here so long ago?

Sometimes, things can seem as real as you and I, yet they are an echo of what once was.
