Little Girl Covered In Blood At The Dark Carnival | The Lake Shawnee Amusement Park | Mercer County, West Virginia | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | America | BoiCGH

The Lake Shawnee Amusement Park located in Rock, Mercer County, West Virginia, is an abandoned, now privately owned, amusement park.

In 1775 Mitchell Clay settled with his family along the Lake Shawnee coast.

Tragically, this ignited a violent territorial war resulting in the murder of his three children, one being kidnapped first and burned at the stake.

During 1926 an entrepreneur Conley Sniedell purchased the site and redeveloped the park, soon after the towns very first ferris wheel ride and fairground stands were opened to the public.

Haunted activity at Lake Shawnee is rumored to be the result of the six tragic fairground deaths which occurred here.

Encounters with apparitions, piercing disembodied screams, unexplained battery drainage and chilling phantom voices are all phenomena encountered at the park.

Archeologists unearthed the remains of thirteen human skeletal remains and the site was permanently shut down in 1991 after a series of failed health and safety inspections.

However, every October, the part hosts a Halloween haunt called The Dark Carnival featuring endless mazes, bonfires and spooky activities.

Apparitions dressed in traditional native clothing are often reported walking amongst the living.

A little girl died on a swing ride when a truck accidentally reversed into her path. Many have reported sighting the manifestation of a ghostly little girl, her dress covered in blood, walking around the site as if dazed and confused.

Visitors to The Dark Carnival had presumed this girl to be part of the Halloween act.

But she is not.

Could this be the very same little girl who was killed on the swing so long ago?

Although the park is privately owned it can be booked for tours in advance.
