Quote from Angela on April 18, 2022, 7:55 pmEnglewood Post Office building, in Chicago Illinois, was first purchased in 1866 by Herman Holmes, a local pharmacist. He also purchased an additional building, just across the street, which he used as hotel accommodation.
But this was a place of pure evil...
Holmes became known as Chicagos Jack The Ripper.
Under the disguise of pharmaceutical trustee, it was discovered Holmes had taken at least two hundred lives.
Victims were kidnapped and concealed in underground soundproof torture rooms which were linked with body disposal tunnels.
The majority of victims were young women and children.
Holmes had administered medications laced with sedatives and poisons.
Their bodies were later either dissolved in acids, incinerated by fire, and even skinned and anatomy sold underground to evil black market practices.
Holmes was executed for his crimes.
Today the building still operates as a public postal service and is not available for investigation.
Employees and maintenance workers have reported a whole array of supernatural phenomena amidst what once was a place inhabiting true evil.
Staff have described sighting the apparition of Holmes, wearing his trademark bowler hat and black brogue boots, walk by as if in slow motion searching for his next victim.
Those brave enough to enter the basements have heard audible screams, sensations of having their hair and arms violently pulled.
A previous caretaker was so horrifically affected, after experiencing continual vivid phenomena, that he sadly took his own life.
Slinking silhouettes of spirits victims whose lives were so coldly stolen, are seen lingering here once darkness falls.
Objects moving unaided, chairs stacking and unstacking,
This phenomena has been called The Holmes Curse and has not indicated any signs of letting go of this property any time soon.
Once a place has experienced true evil, does it remain that way, or can it ever be free?
