Coastline Ghosts at Hotel del Coronado | The Haunting of Kate Morgan | Coronado Island California | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | America | BoiCGH

The Hotel del Coronado is a stunning Victorian era historical beach front hotel, which looks straight out of a beach town mystery story, and is located just across the bay from San Diego at Coronado Island. This hotel once held the record for being the largest wooden built resort hotel in the world.

In 1885, five property investors combined funds and purchased the Island of Coronado. Together they developed the surrounding beach lands. The Hotel del Coronado was one of their very first venue establishments.

During World War II hundreds of army officers and pilots were stationed here. Notable celebrity guests such as Joan Crawford, Clark Gable and Charlie Chaplin have all enjoyed staying here.

The hotel grounds are believed to be haunted by a lady named Kate Morgan. Kate checked in on Thanksgiving day in 1892, where she waited for a lover to return. After five days of waiting, Kate committed suicide by way of gunshot. There has been some speculation that Kate did not take her own life but rather she was murdered.

Room 3327 was Kates favourite room and staff say it is their most actively haunted room with lots of guests reporting creepy voices, cold channels, doors slamming shut, spontaneously flickering lights, running footsteps and even a glimpse of Kates apparition roaming the hallways after dark.

However, it would seem Kate is not confined to the interior of the hotel. One family who were enjoying a stroll along the beach front told how they witnessed a ghost like female running along the coast crying. The lady seemed immensely sorrowfully and moments later disappeared into thin air.

The family described how the whole of their immediate atmosphere altered, like a negativity enveloped them. The air turned icy cold and there was a sense of momentary panic.

So could this be the residual haunting of Kate forever regretting her fate?

Maybe she acted too soon through anger or upset when she pulled that trigger, and now it's too late?

Multiple guests have reported to front desk staff that their televisions will mysteriously turn on and off and will often notice that items have been moved about the room.

This 4 star hotel is now part of the Hilton hotel chain and is just five miles from downtown San Diego.

Would you be willing to spend a night here? Just don't walk the shores alone at night as you might encounter Kate.

However, if you are paranormally curious, just ask to stay in room 3327!
