Dancing With The Devil | Bear Creek North Carolina | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | America | BoiCGH

Deep in the woods of North Carolina, near Bear Creek, is a 150 year old historical landmark known as 'The Devils Tramping Ground'.

It is suggested that this 40ft circular forest clearing, located in the south west corner of Chatham County, has been 'the devils stomping and dancing ground' since 1882 and that the land is forever cursed and actively haunted today.

It is believed that if you place an object in the centre of the clearing, regardless of the objects weight, when you return the next day that object will have been spat back out by the devil himself so that he can continue his dance.

Over the years stories continue of how 'during the dark of night, the Majesty of the Underworld of Evil silently tramples the circle with his fiery hooves, plotting against the powers of good'.

Locals describe this place 'the circle where nothing grows'. Mysteriously no plant life will grow here, the land appears barren, animals will not pass through either.

Could animals be sensing negative energy here?

Another theory is that satanic rituals were once performed here which unleashed sinister entities. Could those entities still have a tight supernatural hold on the land today.

'Soil scientists' were called in to try and decipher the reason nothing flourishes. However, the mystery deepened even further as the scientists quoted 'none of our readings suggest that plants could not grow here'.

Journalists who once camped here overnight reported fearing for their lives upon experiencing audible running footsteps circling their tents.

Many hikers and visitors have reported sighting unexplained peering red glowing eyes and fast moving shadow figures darting amongst the trees.

Could it be that these malevolent entities actually manifest intermittently?

Interestingly, this land garnered mentions in two horror novels by Poppy Z Brite 'Lost Souls' and 'Drawing Blood' which both take place in a fictional Carolina town called Missing Mile.

Are you ready to 'dance with the devil'?
