The Devils Gate Dam, located in Waipo Valley, Northern Pasadena California, is a flood control dam which shape eerily resembles that of an insidious horned beast.

The site was first explored in 1770 by Spanish soldier Gaspar de Portola and, in 1843, Mexican Leiutenant Manuel Garfius took over ownership of the dam.

In 1874 the Indiana colony was established and before long homesteads sprouted up amongst the region.

It soon became apparent that this area was highly susceptible to seasonal flooding, often hindering travel from Pasadena to Los Angeles.

As a result, in 1920, flood engineers were called in to construct a dam at Devils Gate Gorge.

During the 1940s a group of occultists became interested in the area and went on to conduct a series of rituals here.

Horrifically, it was rumored these occultists ventured here with the intentions of opening a direct door to hell in attempting to bring forth the antichrist himself.

This area is shrouded in tales of hauntings and some truly macabre phenomenon.

Local folklore legend has suggested that this dam, and its surrounding forests is haunted by entities conjured during past rituals.

Many have described chilling demonic laughing sounds and electronic equipment failure at the Devils Gate rapids.

Others have captured half formed silhouettes on photographs, and ghastly apparitions seemingly demonic in nature.

Several local children have disappeared from this area, mysteriously and within literal seconds. Although several serial killers attempted to claim these disappearances as their own, nothing was ever proven.

Those children were never found, nor was any supporting evidence. Is it just a coincidence that those children disappeared at exactly same timeframe that those rituals took place?

Could supernatural forces be linked to those disappearances?

Hundreds of visitors describe feeling the sensation of icy breath on necks and hearing unexplained deep gutteral growlings.
