Ed & Lorraine Warren Confirm Haunting at The Evergreen Inn & Tavern | Woodbury Connecticut | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | America | BoiCGH

For centuries local residents have been claiming The Evergreen Inn & Tavern (originally Curtis House Inn) to be 'without doubt Connecticuts most haunted location'.

This Inn was erected in 1736 by Anthony Stoddard and today offers the perfect balance of historical character and modern amenities.

British Chef Gordon Ramsey claims he can attest to the hauntings when he experienced mysterious phenomena inside his hotel room whilst on location filming for series Hotel Hell. One evening Ramsey reports he felt 'a very real and unsettling presence accompanied by some mysterious difficulty'. He could not leave his room, he attempted several times pulling with force on the door handle. The door had no viable obstruction. Upon his departure after a five night stay he said 'the joints haunted alright'.

With over 260 years history confined within its walls it comes as no surprise to learn that there have been literally hundreds of reports of unexplained phenomena such as creepy disembodied voices, rapid running footsteps and failing electrics experienced at this inn. Others have described the sensation of an invisible force 'someone or something getting into bed besides them'.

Paranormal experts Ed and Lorraine Warren, who investigated the Amityville House, claimed 'we have been aware of the haunting of the old Curtis House for a very very long time, we have been there. There is a bedroom upstairs, the first bedroom, it is very active, a real haunted inn'.

Staff have claimed that sometimes things can get 'pretty terrifying' as they all too aware that entities of former owners and previous workers still 'clock in' from time to time.

Could it be that those spirits never truly 'checked out'?

If you are interested in the paranormal, and don't mind a few 'otherworldly' guests, why not pay the Evergreen Inn a visit and enjoy the Special Sunday Lunch or a refreshing cocktail.

As always, please share your experiences with us in the comment section below.
