The Flanders Hotel located in Ocean City, New Jersey, is a beachfront hotel boasting a traditional classical ballroom, modern spa, five star cuisine restaurant and in house conference center.

This impressive, Spanish Colonial era home, was first erected in 1923 by architect Vivian Smith and named The Flanders in memory of the fallen allied troops of World War 1s 'Battle Of Flanders'.

In 1996 the building was purchased by James M Dwyer who converted the hotel into prestigious luxury apartments.

The hotel today is a popular year round vacation destination with a renowned reputation for its creepy phenomena.

From flickering lights, to bulbs unscrewing themselves and a disembodied female voice, it’s all here at The Flanders Hotel.

The most famous tale surrounding this location is that of a young girl named Emily who once lived here.

One fateful day, Emilys boyfriend left for service in World War 1.

He never returned.

It is speculated that the spirit of Emily remained tied to this location, even after death, awaiting his return.

Those who have encountered the ghostly unexplained voice have described it as ‘soothing, beautiful, almost flirtatious and foreboding’.

The voice has been heard, giggling, speaking and singing and, somehow, all those who witness it are mesmerized.

So could it be Emilys voice so many guests hear crossing the realms today?

And is it just a coincidence that most of those reports have come from males wearing military uniform? Could these uniformed officers remind her of the love who never returned?

Staff have considered that she attempts to charm the officers with her voice, she wants them to stay, and never be heartbroken again.

Another known entity is that of a sweet little boy who haunts the second floor. The boy enjoys playful mischief, hide and seek and playing pranks on the living.
