This Story Will Break Your Heart | Female Spirit Trapped Between Realms | Galvez Hotel | Galveston Texas | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | America | BoiCGH

Hotel Galvez in Galveston, Texas, is not just a known haunted location to the locals, but is a world renowned paranormal hotspot.

This location began as an original beach hotel constructed way back in 1882.

In 1898 a mysterious fire broke out causing massive damages but the hotel was renovated and reopened its doors in 1911.

Once again, the venue was closed during World War II but reopened in the 1950s as the United States Coastguard depot.

However, the hotel became a known illegal gambling hotspot and its reputation steadily declined.

Owners were adamant this hotel would be granted its original dignity and sure enough, during the 1990s, the hotel was fully returned to its original glory days.

But that is not the predominant reason people visit, people come for the ghosts!

Staff believe the hotel is haunted by a female spirit named Audra who stayed here in Room 501 whilst awaiting her fiancés return who was away at sea.

Audra heard news that her new husband to be had drowned when his ship had capsized.

However, this information was incorrect.

But tragically it was too late.

Audra had already committed suicide, she hanged herself in the West turret.

It is said that as her soul departed this realm she became fully aware that her fiancé was alive and well when she sighted him returning alive and well to the hotel.

This caused her to instantly regret killing herself.

Her spirit is believed trapped between realms as she longs to be in the arms of her lover just one last time.

How heartbreaking. Her apparition eternally paces up and down the halls along the fifth floor, and as she passes by she is known to angrily bang on doors and cause powerful gusts of wind down corridors.

And who can blame her?

Other guests have encountered groups of ghostly children who have been seen playing on the main hall piano and later call out ‘hey mommy are you there?’

This is most paranormally active hotel in all of Texas and not for the faint of heart!
