Ghost of a Writer at Faulkner House Book Shop | New Orleans | Louisiana | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | America | BoiCGH

Located on Pirates Alley in New Orleans French Quarter you will find Faulkner House Books. The store has been described as 'truly opulent' and 'a literary haven'.

This charming bookstore is reportedly haunted by a whole host of bygone spirits, including American novelist William Faulkner, who lived here during the early 1920s.

Faulkner penned many notable works such as 'The Sound and the Fury' and 'As I Lay Dying'.

Hundreds of visitors have reported witnessing Faulkners apparition sitting casually at this desk, right here in the store, accompanied by the strong aroma of cigar smoke. It is well known that smoking a pipe was amongst Faulkners most enjoyable habits in life.

Female staff members have described being 'gently embraced' or 'hugged' and these ladies truly believe this to be the active spirit of Faulker. Oddly enough the ladies state they do not feel fearful upon experiencing this phenomena as it is always non threatening in nature.

Others report disembodied whisperings and the odd book flying from shelves!

Could this author truly be visiting from beyond the grave?

The store is extremely popular with locals and tourists alike and stocks a great range of local culture and history books.

Why not come and see the historical plaque outside the store which states that Faulkner wrote his very first work, 'Soldiers Pay', whilst living here in 1925.
