Olive Thomas came to New York in search of dreams at the tender age of just sixteen. Her story is beautiful, yet tragic.

Olive was an artist, actress and model and was awarded the title of 'Most Beautiful Girl in New York City'. She later became a member of the Ziegfeld Follies Showgirls who were a highly acclaimed Broadway stage and theatrical group during the early 1900s.

Olive would often perform at the New Amsterdam Theatre in New York City proudly wearing her glamourous Zietfeld costumes (she is pictured below).

On September 10th, 1920, Olive tragically died after ingesting her husbands mercury dichloride pills. Some speculated this was accidental but the majority believed she may have been involved in a deep Hollywood scandal and the action was intentional suicide.

A great loss was felt by all who had been touched by her charisma. She was described as enthusiastic and vibrant with a beautifully transparent nature. Yet another life was taken by the dark grips of Hollywood.

It is said that Olive was the most famous Ziegfeld girl ever and due her untimely death it is widely believed the New Amsterdam is haunted by her spirit today.

There have been hundreds of sighting of Olives apparition, usually by male members of the audience who describe witnessing her transparent like form holding a pill bottle before disappearing out of sight. 

There are portraits of Olive hanging backstage and staff say they greet her 'good morning' every day. 

Could this audible interaction somehow have persuaded Olive to manifest?

Is Olive still yearning to grace the stages of the New Amsterdam today?
