Ghosts at The Medieval Torture Museum | St Augustine Florida | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | America | BoiCGH

Downtown St Augustine in Florida is renowned for its actively haunted locations and as such offers many guided tours.

The Medieval Torture Museum is one of the areas most sinister sites and has a seriously dark history. Americas first exclusive torture museum which offers immersive interactive displays.

This location is a monument of historical abuse through torture throughout history. The rooms are filled with deadly collections of torture instruments with names such as the 'Spanish Spider', 'Heretic Fork' and the 'Coffin Cage'. Many were tortured here until they confessed to local crimes. Treatments were relentless. This is where people screamed their last breaths and pleas for life.

As you enter the building you will hear surrounding atmospheric disturbing music and see lists of exactly how patients were hurt, which often included female mutilations, torture and sleep deprivation. However, it was not limited to adults as artefacts display replicas of jarred brains, babies with grotesquely altered limbs. If hell was on earth, this was it.

The mannequins, with their anguished screaming facial expressions, are rumoured to be physical channels for demonic possessions.

Many visitors have left tours early on account of feeling fearful, whilst others have reported horrific sightings of unexplained entities including shadow figures, screaming voices and being touched by unseen hands.

Could this museum be residually haunted by the tortured souls from the past? Surely a place which has soaked up so much emotion and horrific suffering retains much negative energy within its walls today. What do you think?
