Grim Reaper Like Entity Haunts Fort Humboldt State Historic Park | Eureka California | Paranormal | Haunting | Historical | America | BoiCGH

This historical military fort located at Humboldt Bay, Eureka California, was constructed in 1853 and has survived multiple wars between European Americans and Native Americans.

The park been described as a 'history lovers haven' and is believed to be actively haunted today. But first let's take a look at it's phenomenal history.

Fort Humboldt was where Captain Ulysses S. Grant was stationed when he served in the American/Mexican battle, for which he received an honourable 'Award for Bravery'.

However, Captain Grant was not particularly a fan of this particular fort and described it as being 'far too isolated'.

Sadly in 1870, thirteen of the original blocks were deserted and fell prey to deterioration. However, the hospital site survived and is today used as a museum and recreational historical park site retelling the history of the regional Yurok, Hoopa and Wiyot tribes with fantastic logging exhibits, locomotives and steam machinery.

One couple who were exiting the park and headed to their vehicle reported that they witnessed a horrifying ghost like entity sitting on the hood of their car who chillingly stared at them and whispered 'you're next'. They described this phenomena as 'terrifying, non human with elongated teeth and piercing eyes'. The couple ran for their lives!

Many visitors claim to have seen the uniformed apparition of an ex Colonel who once served here, sadly he lost his battle with malaria and died at the fort. Many have sighted this uniformed entity. But what we find most disturbing are the rumours stating that many of those individuals who witnessed the Colonels apparition unexpectedly died soon after. Almost like a grim reaper effect. We hope you never encounter this entity!

There is much fun to be had at this historical museum and state park, but at what cost?

Others have described hearing unexplained dragging sounds and experienced electronic disturbances such as sudden mobile phone drainage and lights mysteriously switching on and off.

If you visit, be sure to share any unexplained occurrences with us in the comment section below.

Just remember to be careful when heading back to your vehicles.
