Vengeful Chamber Maid and Playful Children Haunt The Sagamore Hotel | Warren County New York | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | America | BoiCGH

The Sagamore Hotel is on Americas Top 10 Hotels list for good reason! It's not just haunted, but reportedly 'really really haunted'.

Located at the Sagamore Resort in Warren County, the hotel first opened its doors in 1883 and has survived multiple fires, closing for a brief period between 1981 and 1983 for refurbishment work.

The surrounding area, near the iconic Lake George, is steeped in great local history as it was where many battles between the British, French and Native American took place during the 1700s. Many have stated the hotel may actually have been built on burial grounds which would explain much of the active phenomena experienced today.

The spirit of a little boy, believed from the 1950s era who was killed in an automobile accident, has been witnessed multiple times near the hotels golf course. It is said he is a mischievous entity who enjoys playing pranks such as hiding golf balls. Many have even heard his audible giggles.

However, this little boy is not alone, as several other ghostly children often accompany him. These spirits are just children being children, playful and non malevolent in nature.

The apparition of an elegant lady wearing a long Victorian era frock has been spotted roaming the hallways and is known to gently blow cold air onto guests faces whilst they sleep, clearly unsettling many guests. Many claim this to be a former chamber maid who was allegedly having a secret love affair with a guest in the 1940s. The maid was attacked by her lovers wife who suffocated her with a pillow. It is said this entity is watching, waiting, vengeful and highly malevolent due to retained anger.

One family described how they witnessed a transparent like lady pondering about the restaurant area. The lady is believed to be Lilian, who spent time here when the hotel originally opened. People have even described the lace details on here dress. But can you imagine the astonishment of guests when they witness her actually approach the front desk as if making an enquiry before turning and disappearing into thin air!

One manager claims this spirit entity literally 'walked right through' him, moments later he quit his job.

In the concierge elevator many have seen a ghost known as Walter. He wears a brown three piece suit and has an upturned moustache and may be simply 'residually' performing his old time duties from days gone by when he waited on guests in the card and smoke rooms.

The Sagamore is renowned for warm hospitality, great staff and fine cuisine.

You have been warned, beware of the chamber maid as she may be lurking in the shadows, waiting to exact her revenge.
