Maud Baldwin The Ghostly Manager Haunts The Baldwin Hotel Museum | Klamath Falls Oregon | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | Oregon | America | BoiCGH

Did you know that Oregon, the Beaver State, is believed to act as magnet to the dead? Maybe this is would explain those unexplained, spine tingling, whispers on the wind so many encounter today.

The Baldwin Hotel Museum in Klamath Falls, Oregon, was originally built in 1905.  Owner George Baldwin opened it as a hardware store and later as a hotel in 1911. Mr Baldwin had a daughter, her name was Maud Baldwin and she excelled at assisting her father in managing the place, taking great pride in their family establishment.

The hotel was certainly unique, and its construction did not always go smoothly. When you are erecting a building on a rocky hillside, (see actual pic below) it means a lot of digging and basalt removal.

During 1923 Mr Baldwin sold the building to Andrew and Cordelia Moore.

The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places by Klamath Falls County in 1973 who renovated and reopened the venue as a functioning Museum which displays fascinating historical exhibits capturing the spirit of old town Oregon.

So what about the hauntings?

The halls are allegedly haunted today by Maud Baldwin, who is believed to still keep a watchful eye over the place, albeit from the supernatural realm.

Staff and visitors alike have reported encountering Maud, by way of full spectrum apparition. This manifestation usually occurs up on the fourth floor. In life Maud had a photography studio on the fourth floor so this would coincide well with a typical 'residual haunting'.

Residual haunts are often so deeply emotionally connected to a location that they choose to linger there in spirit.

However, it seems Maud is not alone, as there are continual sightings of other various phenomena including dark shadow figures and further male and female apparitions. These entities are seemingly not from the same time time frames, each wearing outfits reflective of different time eras.

Visitors will often describe hearing strange unexplained sounds such as muffled voices, running footsteps and whisperings all from empty rooms. Others have witnessed strange floating light anomalies.

It has been noted that paranormal activity levels are significantly increased once darkness falls.

Could Maud Baldwin still be keeping watch over the place she once so loved?

Is it possible that some spirits are unaware of their passing?

What do you think?

The Museum is open today, just remember to be respectful of your surroundings, you wouldn't want to upset Maud now would you?
