Poor Old Mr Bennett | The Carter Lake Reservoir Ghost | Larimer Colorado | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | America | BoiCGH

Carter Lake Reservoir, in Larimer County Colorado, is a reservoir completed in 1952 after the construction of the Carter Lake Dam in 1950.

The reservoir holds over 112,000 acre feet of water and measures a mindblowing 214ft height and a length of over 1200ft at its crest on an eight mile shoreline stretch.

Throughout the years, many creepy tales have sprouted from this location with many campers, hikers and nature enthusiasts literally heading home earlier than scheduled due to feeling frightened after witnessing some truly unsettling phenomena such as someone, or something sinister, watching and following them.

There is an old local legend about the ghost of 'Old Mr Bennett'.

Mr Bennett lived in a cabin not too far from the lake and one troublesome day he became involved in a dispute with a neighbour who shot poor Mr Bennett dead.

Visitors today have encountered icy cold spots amidst the warm forests, ghostly light anomalies dancing on the lake and menacing supernatural hands 'grasping and pulling at their legs' whilst paddling in the waters.

Shadow figures have been seen darting from view along the surrounding roads accompanied by strange otherworldly singing voices emanating from the shoreline.

Many have reported sighting the full spectrum apparition of a shabbily dressed male figure who appears to be carrying a strange bag.

It is suggested that the restless spirit of old Mr Bennett aimlessly roams this area, is non malevolent and actually shys away from the living.

Could old Mr Bennett simply be pottering around the home lands he loved so much in life at this historically significant location?

Have you ever visited Carter Lake?

Would you now?

If you do, you may want to leave before sun down.
