Pregnant Visitors Beware! | Evil Pharmacist Entity At The New Orleans Pharmacy Museum | New Orleans Louisiana | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | America | BoiCGH

The New Orleans Pharmacy Museum located off Chartres Street in New Orleans historic quarter is a a prominent history museum housed within a nineteenth century apothecary building.

On display you will find fascinating exhibits which display early medicinal practices, cures and even rumored superstitions.

In 1804 Governor Claiborne declared that all medical practitioners must pass a licensing law test.

However, before this law was implemented, all that was required was a basic six month medical apprenticeship which basically meant that anyone could distribute medicines upon completing this internship.

In 1816 Louis Dufilho Jr became Americas very first licensed Pharmacist and in 1823 he opened his own pharmacy right here in this building where he lived with his small family. Tragically, the Dufilho children mysteriously disappeared and were never seen again whilst living here.

Where did they go?

In 1855 Louis Dufilho sold the home to Dr Joseph Dupas and his family who installed a soda fountain right in the middle of the store, as soda was being recognised for its curative properties.

In 1915, the building suffered incredible damages from the New Orleans hurricane causing the site to be evacuated. But all was not lost. New Orleans Mayor, Robert Mastery stepped in and purchased the building which he repaired and reopened as a Museum.

Hundreds of visitors to the museum have reported otherworldly phenomena such as a young boy and girl playing on the courtyards, books being thrown from shelves and people being violently pushed from behind whilst standing near the stairs.

It is suggested this malevolent entity, who enjoys pushing people, is the spirit of Joseph Dupas who was rumored to perform horrifying experiments and possibly even occult rituals on enslaved people, in secret, within this home, many of whom were pregnant ladies.

Some have sworn they saw Joseph Dupas spirit standing, smiling a devilish grin and those who visit the museum who are pregnant seem especially susceptible to the doctors presence. These women suddenly feel that something may be wrong with their babies and request to leave the building immediately.

Staff believe those ghostly children who play in the courtyards are the spirits of Louis Dufilhos lost children residually haunting the home they so loved in life. Their disappearance remains a mystery today.

The museum offers a range of tours.

Welcome to Louisiana.
