Spooky Taverns And A Haunted Cat | The Buxton Inn | Granville, Ohio | Paranormal | Historical | Haunted | America | BoiCGH

The Buxton Inn, located in Granville Ohio, is a historic tavern and event venue and is the States oldest structure. The building dates back to 1812 and was first known as The Tavern and had operated as a cafeteria, ballroom, a stagecoach court and a community Postal Office.

Families began locating to the Granville area during 1805 and in 1865 the site was acquired by Major Horton Buxton who reopened it as The Buxton Inn.

In 1934 Ethel Bounel purchased the inn where she lived, with her beloved cat, until her passing in 1960. Ethels favorite room was Room 9.

By 1970 the inn had sadly fallen into a state of disrepair. However, in 2014, Robert Shilling of Urban Restorations purchased the property, and is still the owner today.

The Inn is reportedly home to another type of guest, the supernatural kind with previous employees attesting that ‘there are ghosts roaming these hallways, without doubt’.

The Inn offers haunted tours and overnight stays with guests reporting a whole array of unexplained phenomena.

Chilling dreams portraying ones own death, furniture moving on its own, creepy ominous shadow figures slinking amidst corridors, cellular devices being unexplainably drained of power, and a lady in blue, believed to be Ethel Bounel herself.

Several visitors have described a phantom black ghostly feline lingering about the property.

Could this be Ethels cat visiting in spirit?

The manifestation of Major Buxton has been encountered accompanied by the unmistakable pungent aroma of rich cigar smoke ascending the stairwells usually when parties are in full swing.

He doesn't want to miss out on the fun right?

Could this location be actively harboring the spirits of its past?

Rooms 7, 9 and the basement are allegedly the hotspots to check out.

There are no cats here so if you do see a cat about the property you may have just witnessed a paranormal encounter!

Have you ever had a personal experience you would consider as being paranormal? Because if you have i would love to hear about it.
