The Time And Temperature Building in Portland, Maine, was first built in 1924.

This downtown office building was originally designed by local architect Herbert W Rhodes and was initially known as The Chapman National Bank building and later as B T Keiths Theatre. Today the building houses fourteen floors.

During 1964 the owners of the building installed a flashing light sign which displayed the current time and temperature, hence the buildings name today.

Visitors have reported the elevators seemingly acting 'with a mind of their own' with random arrival at non selected floors and doors spontaneously opening/closing unaided.

Workmen within the building often an encounter an unaccounted for lady who shockingly vanishes around corners.

Staff believe the building is haunted by a female ghost who has a preference for riding the elevator.

Security staff claim that after rewatching recorded elevator footage, cameras continue to detect unexplained ghostly figures, standing silently, just behind the living.

Are the spirits of this buildings past actively monitoring todays guests at this significantly historical location?

The building certainly lives up to its name as many describe time seeming to stand still and room temperature in the elevators has been known to drop so severely that you can visibly see your icy breath upon exhaling.
