Route 26 in Harrison, Maine, is rumored to be haunted by a female spirit known as the Phantom Hitcher.

However, this spirit manifests as regular living person, seemingly in distress as if panicked at the road side.

It is speculated this is the spirit of a teenage girl who was killed in a car accident during the 1930s along this highway.

The young girl wears an extravagant dress, as if en route to a party, and speedily approaches vehicles as if panicked and needing assistance.

Drivers have opened their vehicle doors and allowed the girl inside in order to attempt some sort of help for her situation.

But what I found interesting was that many of these drivers reported to feeling that ‘something was not right’ as the girl approached them as she displayed ‘a glowing aura around her body’.

Alarmingly, just moments later, she mysteriously disappears into thin air, followed by car radios becoming erratic, engine failure, and an intense icy chill fills the air.

Very often entities draw on heat sources which can then be converted as energy.

Spirits require energy in order to manifest.

Other pedestrians have described having fully interactive conversations with the phantom teen, not even realizing they were communicating with a spirit.

When a life is taken very suddenly and traumatically such a car accident, sometimes that spirit is still in a transition process.

So maybe this unfortunate young lady does not yet realise her fate, and thinks she too is still living.
