When the producers of Texas Chainsaw and Day Of The Dead review a movie as "TERRIFYING !" you know it's going to be a good night.

The Assent is directed by Pearry Reginald Teo whose works have been compared with James Wan, Director of The Conjuring (2013).

Starring English actor Robert Kazinsky, who played the Don in Captain Marvel (2019), the movie follows the tale of a single father with a young son who is struggling with mental health issues (skitzophrenia) and dire financial problems.

This father is barely holding things together when he begins to encounter dark demonic forces within his home and reaches out to a Priest.

Concerned for his young son, naturally parental protectiveness takes over.

The exorcism of a child.

A battle of wills.

Good and evil, supernatural conflict.

This plot swells with an effectively chilling music score as suspense and horror builds.

I truly enjoyed the imagery and visual mood of this movie. Atmospherically sinister, well produced, with some very cool prosthetics and creature elements.

The little boy actor was just fantastic too. Little Mason, played by child actor Caden Dragomer, you might recognise from Modern Family (2009) and Moonbase 8 (2020).

Get the popcorn ready and more importantly, 

Stay spooky.
