Between Prosser and Benton City in Washington, there is a winding gravel road which leads to Horse Heaven Hills Cemetery.

Beyond an old white picket fence are ‘the baby graves’.

The tiny buried corpses, of infants aged two years and younger belonging to the original settlers and prairie pioneers’, laid to rest right here.

This location has been known for teenage gatherings partaking in underage drinking and sadly many headstones have been vandalised.

We are not the only people here.

It is alleged the spirits who rest here manifest in attempts to ward off the living.

There is no doubt in my mind that the parents of those buried babies, who were often buried alongside their children, are phenomenally active here today.

A parent will protect a child even unto death and beyond, it is the strongest love bond there is.

So could this explain visitors encountering unexplained dark mass shadow figures literally ‘stalking’ them as they walk the cemetery.

You don't want to mess with these vehemently protective spirits.

These entities are known to create a hostile unwelcome atmosphere surrounding the living, initiating emotions of sudden panic and fear, so much so that people have literally ran from this location.

I can easily see how this could be the work of a protective parent in spirit.

How would you feel if you felt someone was about to desecrate your childs grave? Spirits are no different.

There have been over thirty five sightings of a an adult shadow, hand in hand, guiding a tiny child figure along a pathway.

Yet moments later they are nowhere to be seen.

Others have described a guardian like old man who manifests here and described how the old picket fence appeared to be ‘glowing’ as he passed it.

Could this guardian simply be a spirit pioneer grandfather protecting his territory and family as they supernaturally slumber?

Because I am sure we can all agree that every spirit has the right to rest in peace?

You might want to think twice about any thoughts of partying after hours here because first of all it is prohibited and quite frankly abhorrent that anyone would do so. Secondly, believe me, these are not the type of ‘spirits’ you are after.

Respect really does work both ways.
