The Childrens Floor At The Bellamy Mansion | Wilmington North Carolina | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | America | BoiCGH

The Bellamy Mansion Museum, in Wilmington North Carolina, is a historic home turned museum which is considered one of North Carolinas finest examples of elegant Victorian Antebellum era architecture.

The building was designed for Dr John Bellamy, his pregnant wife Eliza, and their eight children. Sadly the family were forced to leave the home when it came under attack of Armed Union forces.

The family did, however, return to the mansion and lived here until until their passing.

Their daughter, Ellen Douglas Bellamy was the last survivor at the home, she lived into her nineties at the mansion.

Ellen loved to read a newspaper of an evening before she retired to her bedroom. Her fingers would often be inky from the newspaper and, as she would dim the wall/candle sconces, she would leave a dark smudgy ink print. Of course this was cleaned and painted, so how can it be that those smudge marks continue to reappear, time and time again even today?

Did Ellens touch leave some residual imprint on the home which still manifests today?

The Bellamy family funerals were all held right here on the mansion grounds.

In 1972 Bellamy Mansion Incorporated was formed in attempts to preserve the property.

Today it is an official, non profit, organisation open to the public as a history and design arts museum.

It is rumored the mansion is residually haunted by the spirits of the Bellamy family themselves.

Doors will often slam shut, locking visitors inside, which is so unsettling that many have left early on accounts of feeling fearful.

There is no piano here, yet the melodic sounds of a piano often burst into play, echoing hauntingly throughout the hallways.

The top floor, known as The Childrens Floor, is filled with dark walnut wood flooring and dimly lit rooms. However, this was not always a dark place, it was once a bright and airy and cheerful nursery where the Bellamy children were cared for.

It is within this very floor that multiple staff members have encountered mysterious knocking and thumping sounds emanating from the walls and the unsettling sounds of children giggling and playing.

Many visitors suddenly feel uneasy and nauseous, and have even left the site early on accounts of feeling frightened after witnessing such phenomena.

This place is draped in supernatural activity and not for everyone, but if you are wanting a glimpse of the paranormal, it may just well be worth a visit.

But are you brave enough for The Childrens Floor?

Because if you are, we would love to hear your experiences.
