Idaho is no stranger to the weird, the wonderful and the downright terrifying! And we feel the ghosts said to haunt the grounds of Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell deserve a mention.

Founded way back in 1800, the cemetery is located at 2024 North Illinois Avenue, Caldwell.

There are literally hundreds of homicide victims and the like buried here so it's no surprise the place is known for paranormal activity at night, and many venture out to try and decipher its mysteries themselves.

It is said that if you wait at the main entrance gates at nightfall, the ghost of a one legged 'midnight jogger' ironically also known as 'the running ghost' eerily appears! This ghost is thought to be a female, and she boldly approaches cars and taps on the windows.

What we found most shocking is that most apparitions are non confrontational, however this spirit intentionally and fearlessly appears to members of the public. This would be classed as an intelligent haunting as they are conscious of their immediate surroundings and will often communicate by way of manifestation. 

And if that's not scary enough for you, how about the ghost lady who sits on one of the cemetery benches around dusk, only to disappear moments later, blink and she's gone.

Some claim to have seen the ghosts of a lady and her five children walking behind her. The family sadly veered off a cliff in their car falling to their imminent deaths, now buried here.

Many suicide victims were also laid to rest here and many claim to hearing unexplained screaming and feeling very uneasy whilst visiting.
