The Girl In The Well at Bulloch Hall Mansion | Roswell Georgia | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | America | BoiCGH

Atlanta, the Beach State, dates back almost two hundred years being founded in 1837. First named 'Marthasville' the State today has some truly breathtaking original 18th century architecture amidst the town squares and holds some pretty dark history.

Bulloch Hall in Roswell, Georgia, is a Greek style mansion of some truly bureaucratic significance.

During 1853 this was the actual childhood home of Martha Bulloch Roosevelt, the mother of President Theodore Roosevelt.

Major James Stephen Bulloch constructed the mansion in 1839 using slave labour and established the surrounding land as crop and cotton plantations. In 1849, James died of a heart attack leaving his wife Martha to run the estate.

In 1853 Martha re married none other than Theodore Roosevelt Senior attaining her new title Martha Bulloch Roosevelt. The lavish ceremony was held at the mansion with no expense spared. Many affluent and notable persons were in attendance.

Martha later became the mother of Theodore, Americas 26th President, and grandmother to Eleanor Roosevelt who truly loved visiting the family home enjoying many flamboyant high class socialite events.

However, the property seems forever cursed due to its dark history and it is alleged that a young slave girl drowned in a concrete well to the rear of the property. Many believe the spirit of that slave girl responsible for much of the unexplained paranormal phenomena experienced here today.

The spirit seems to enjoy flicking light switches on and off and has even been known to dangerously ignite candles. However, those who have witnessed the manifestation of her full spectrum apparition described here as 'ethereal, strikingly beautiful with yet wearing a worn and dirty dress'.

Maybe her dress shows signs of the struggle in a muddied well?

Staff and visitors alike report a wide range of phenomena including extreme temperature fluctuation, flitting shadow figures, objects spontaneously moving across the room. Astonishingly many of these activities have been readily caught on visitors camera and video footage.

Disturbingly, the majority explain feeling an evil sinister hostile energies leaving many feeling frightened. Many slaves were held here. Maybe there are some things even time can't heal.

Could there be malevolent spirits lurking here today?

The mansion is today owned by the City of Roswell, and is open five days a week offering tours.

Why not take a tour and let us know if you experience any paranormal effect, especially when passing the well.
