Earnestine And Hazels is a bar and grill, housed within a notable historic building, along South Main Street in Memphis, Tennessee.

Originally this building was a church during the 1800s.

Later it ran as the town hair salon managed by two sisters, Earnestine and Hazel.

In the 1950s Abe Plough purchased the building and opened it as a pharmacy. Abe went on to manufacture a line of hair styling products, one became very popular and was used for slicking back hair into various styles.

Abe later passed the business on to local sisters Earnestine and Hazel who opened the venue up as a coffee shop and the upstairs as a secret brothel.

In 1992 the site was purchased by Russell George who opened it as the bar and grill we know today.

In 2019 during renovations, workers unearthed bones, it was never determined whether those bones were human or animal remains.

In total there have been thirteen deaths on these premises.

Today the bar is famous for its reported hauntings, many believe this activity is attributable to the deaths here.

Phenomena encountered here includes disembodied voices, unsettling moans, shadowy figures seen slinking amidst corners and objects seen levitating through the air.

Mysterious light anomalies are often captured on visitors camera. 

But perhaps the most interesting phenomena is the haunted juke box which and will spontaneously select songs seemingly appropriate to the conversations of the persons sitting closest to it.

Almost as if the records are being selected by some intelligent entity.

Or are the sisters simply watching over the place today?
