ROSE HILL CEMETERY - Idaho Falls

Did you know that there is a specific square shaped, above ground, tombstone at Rose Hill Cemetery in Idaho Falls, and if you knock on it, you may just get a response?

Some claim to have seen the concrete panels on this gravestone actively move back and forth without being actively maneuvered.

This cemetery has long been the subject of folklore including tales of werewolves and zombies. This is thought to have originated when people noticed two tombstones next to each other, one bore the surname WERE, the other WOLFF. Locals have suggested that many years ago Idaho Falls fell prey to a spate of grisly and unsolved murders.

They caught a wild animal which looked something similar to a werewolf, they killed the creature, cut it in two and buried the beast in two separate graves WEAR and WOLFF. This was done to prevent the creature from resurrecting. But many believe it failed and that entity resides here today. These suggestions may be nothing more than folklore.

However, there are folks who claim to have experienced some very real unexplainable encounters here.

Phenomena includes the feeling of invisible hands grasping around shoulders, two local teenagers literally fled the cemetery after feeling those icy hands, they ran screaming and crying and swore they’d never return again.

The mausoleum is allegedly haunted by a young girl who responds 'hi' if you say 'hello' upon entering.

One visitor claimed they saw an orb like light anomaly, floating about six feet from the ground, moving side to side before darting off at high speed. The lady said ‘I saw it fly off myself ... i saw it with my own eyes’.

Others have sighted a male apparition and a little girl entity who linger just out of sight amidst the surrounding foliage. Many have said the little girl sometimes comes closer, and sits in a large nearby birch tree just watching the living pass by.

The little girl presents as a non malevolent entity and has even been described as having a pleasant demeanor.

Honestly, it seems to me that when it comes to Idaho, truth really is more fascinating than fiction.
