The Spirits at McMenamins Bagdad Theatre | Portland Oregon | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | Oregon | America | BoiCGH

The McMenamins Bagdad Theatre located in the heart of the Hawthorne district in Portland is a Universal Studio 1927 built historic cinema theatre, with restaurant and bar.

Said to be Portlands largest theatre, the building was originally used as a cider house and later as a church but then demolished to make space for the Bagdad.

The theatre is believed to be actively haunted by multiple spirits. One of these spirits is said to be a previous employee/stagehand who took his own life, hanging himself, here on the premises. Many claim to seeing him wondering the auditorium area and hearing children's whispers.

Electronic malfunctions and doors banging are just a regular part the day here.

Female visitors claim the ladies bathroom is haunted with numerous reports of feeling breathing on ones neck to full body apparitions and shadow figures.

In 1975 Jack Nicholson and Michael Douglas appeared at the theatre for its very first showing of 'One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest'.

2013 renovations saw the theatre ushering in the latest in state of the art technology and larger cinema screens.

So whether its the latest local indie stage production or a star studded Hollywood movie you're after why not check out the listings at The Bagdad Theatre.
