The Wraith Of Chaos At The Littlefield House | University Of Texas | Austin Texas | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | America | BoiCGH

Texas is known for its prevalence in the paranormal with an ever increasing abundance of hauntings lurking amidst the Lonestar state.

The Littlefield House in Austin, Texas, is historic house which is located on the University of Texas campus.

Erected in 1893, by architect James Wahrenberger, and commissioned by Civil War veteran and cattle rancher George Littlefield, this beautiful Victorian style home was built from Himalyan cedar wood gathered from the local forests.

George lived here with his wife Alice who was an artist.

It was said that Alice seemed to bring magic wherever she went. She was great at everything, art, writing, piano. However, her greatest gift was interacting with others and many loved to sit and listen to her stories.

Alice had a real thirst and enthusiasm for learning. She was an inquisitive and curious soul. In this process she had collected many strange and wonderful tales, facts and history to share.

Alice and George had two children who sadly died young of disease and lack of antibiotic treatments. Things, of course, were much different back then.

Alice began to suffer mental breakdown, visions, paranoia, hallucinations. She was convinced someone was out to murder her whole family. Eventually, things escalated and George took Alice for tests at a sanitorium.

The sanitorium wanted to keep hold of Alice but George refused and took her back to the Littlefield home. George succumbed to pneumonia in 1920 and as soon as he died, Alice became instantly well again. It was thought the strain of childloss and then caring for him had brought about her nervous condition. Alice lived until age 88 under the care of in house nurses here.

The Littlefield House is reportedly actively haunted today.

Faculty and student alike have reported the unexplained sounds of the house piano playing throughout the night hours.

Could this be the ghost of Alice?

Another entity said to linger here is a malevolent wraith who manifests loud moanings and incessant singing.

It is suggested that Alices spirit acts as a guardian angel, and she is at war with the wraith.

Students believe that Alice has protected them from incidents of actual bodily harm conjured by this wraith who has been seen chaotically running up stairwells as if trying to physically push the living, and peering through windows.
