They Always Come Home | Respect The Dead | Spirits Return To The McLoughlin House Museum | Oregon City | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | Oregon | America | BoiCGH

The McLoughlin House in Oregon City was built in 1845 by Dr John McLoughlin for himself and his wife, Marguerite upon their retirement.

In 1857 the doctor passed away, followed by his wife a few years later.

Their bodies were laid to rest right here.

The home was substantially renovated and later reopened as a museum during 1935 which required the McLoughlins bodies to be moved to another location.

We all know it is never a good idea to disturb the dead.

Many see this as a massive sign of disrespect to the spirits resting there.

I wonder what the dead themselves feel?

The moment the McLoughlins bodies were relocated to another location, the hauntings began.

Today, many visitors to the museum report feeling genuinely frightened, and almost threatened, a sensation that something, or someone, is trying to hurt them.

Maybe the saying is true that no matter where you move the dead, they will always find a way back home.

Staff claim that you don’t even need to enter the building, because you will feel the otherworldly presence hit you long before you step inside.

Are the spirits of the McLoughlins somehow still feeling anger, remorse, that they were disturbed where they once rested?

Museum anyone?
