The sacredness of Catholicism.

When it comes to investigations of the paranormal kind, no two people have ever stayed the course like the Warrens. What began as a mutual interest in the unseen, transformed on a life long journey spanning over fifty years, together they pursued that path with diligence.

The two shared a unique and unifying denominator which was their steadfast devotion to the Roman Catholic Church. 

Catholicism does not only acknowledge the existence of evil entities but also that there are good spirits, and supernatural miracles, another vital component of the Warrens’ faith. 

Ed and Lorraine Warren had one constant denominator throughout their outstanding journey of bringing encouragement and enlightenment to many, their Catholic faith was everything.

They saw their role primarily as educators, helpers, when during the 1960s there was a growing interest in the occult and many began dabbling in dark practices and subsequently were being affected by malevolent phenomena. 

The Warrens hoped that through their lectures and informative resources they might discourage people from exploring aspects of the occult to begin with.

They became respected as the only known respected demonologists within a church, their faith being their unmovable foundation.

Why was their faith in the Roman Catholic Church so important?

The Roman Catholic Church had always urged folks to steer clear of such practices, another reason their faith was so vital.

Catholicism encourages individuals to cling to faith during times of trouble, amidst fear and Lorraine Warren herself often quoted "my faith will carry me through".

The Catholic Church honorably recognised Ed Warren as being the 'only lay expert on demonology in the world'.

The rosary is a known deterrent when it comes to Demonic realms, demons fear the rosary. 

The holy rosary is at the core of the Catholic faith.

In 1990 the Warrens officially proved existence of the paranormal in an American Court of Law.

Ed stated that ‘many faiths today shy away from the existence of the Devil and class it as medieval but let me tell you, there are devils, there are demons and there are evil spirits’.

He divulged that many churches even appear embarrassed by the topic of possessions, demons and exorcisms, but that Jesus Christ himself exorcised demons.

Ed concluded the reason for this embarrassment is genuine fear, people do not know how to handle such situations and that is where they offered help.

Never once did they claim the church sent them, but rather offered free of charge assistance of their own accord. Their gestures of goodwill were often distorted and manipulated into claims that were far from the truth.

Once again, the Catholic faith came strongly into force when the Warrens went on to explain that the Pope, and Roman Catholic church, strongly advocates teaching young seminarians in the area of Demonology and is calling for more Roman Catholic exorcists.

Demonologists are educated, compassionate people, who work tirelessly to learn about dangers in the spirit realm in order to assist others. So let's hope that seminary call is honored moving forwards.
