Little Girls And The Demonic | The Steinbeck House Museum | Salinas, California | Paranormal | Historical | Haunting | America | BoiCGH

Think about this, if you were a demon and you wanted to infiltrate a person or home, gain someones trust, what is the most innocent disguise you could use?

Little girls...

“The house in Salinas is pretty haunted now, I see things, walking at night, that are not good to see” - John Steinbeck.

Just off John Steinbeck Highway, in Salinas, California is The Steinbeck House Museum and Restaurant.

Let’s take a look at the history behind this notable location.

Iconic American author, Nobel and Pulitzer prize winner, John Steinbeck, who wrote Of Mice And Men, East Of Eden and The Grapes Of Wrath, was born at this location in 1902.

Steinbeck experienced first hand encounters of a very real haunting at this home.

The opening note above was sent in panic, from Steinbeck, to a close friend during the height of those hauntings when he became extremely concerned about the phenomena he was witnessing within the home.

So, what really took place at the Salinas house?

Steinbeck stated the home was infested with a ‘disturbing presence’ and that he saw entities lurking about the home once darkness fell.

In 1934, Steinbecks mother suffered a fatal stroke and passed away at the home.

Soon after, he saw an apparition enter the room, like a translucent shaft of beaming light.

Could this apparition have been the spirit of his own Mother?

The home now operates as The Steinbeck House Museum and Restaurant.

Many have encountered items visibly moving unaided. One visitor saw a tablecloth being forcefully pulled from the table by unseen hands.

Kitchen staff have stated that when they are working alone they feel a very palpable and unnerving presence in the room with them.

However, the most disturbing phenomena encountered here is that of the little black eyed girl. A seven year old girl who visited the museum claimed she interacted with a little ghost girl, of a similar age to herself, wearing a blue dress. Also, the girls brother witnessed the same ghostly girl.

The boy said “she was like a normal girl, blonde hair, blue dress. She was pretty, but her eyes were pitch black”.

Do you see? Already that little boy almost connected with that little girl entity. He thought 'she was pretty'.

Tales of black eyed children have circulated for centuries and usually denote malevolent entities who present themselves under the disguise of innocent children. They come with malicious intent. Black eyes are thought to be demonic.

Reports of sightings of the black eyed girl continue at the Steinbeck House today.
